An Autobiography
Or
The Story of my experiments with truth
-
M. K. Gandhi
While involving in the
discussions about M.K.Gandhi I’m always prone to utter confusion, whether to
speak for him or against. Just with a little understanding about this man from
my 9th and 10th academics never made me an earnest contender
in adjudging his character. As most of my companions stood against him dwelling
over his misconducts I would always reprimand at the absence of subtlety in
their understandings. I never knew whether any of them made an attempt to
understand his thoughts behind his actions or knowing what his way of living
was. I never know understood why people criticise who was called a MAHATMA
then??? If I were to speak out I would have to know him better. It is all how
it started with “The Story of my experiments with truth -M.K.Gandhi.”
When it comes to expressing our
opinions we tend to interpret our understandings, either those we heard from others
or of the ones we learned ourselves through reading. When it happens through
conversation or hearing, the perception towards the speaker dominates the
authenticity of the information while creating an impression about any
particular aspect. For example in any altercations most of the parents tends to
believe his kid to be correct without any rational thinking. Similarly, when this
understanding is attempted through reading, narrative skills and the vividness
of the creation by the author predominates irrespective of the information rather
than the genuineness of the conception.
About this book, M.K.Gandhi explained
a few of his life experiences. Most of the cases he just narrated those
incidents without any attempts towards conclusions in favor of him or at least
against anyone. At many instances he depicted his intentions behind his
activities and always gave the reader a chance to judge rather than supporting
himself. There wasn’t any criticism over anyone, there has always been a
rational explanation given behind the intentions of every wrongdoing. His
narration to make one understand that in any case of misconduct the person who
commits it is never bad. Its just his perception towards that particular
scenario that is erroneous is certainly a subtle way of the reader better way
of elevating the readers moral values. His methodology of understanding any
situation certainly encourages the reader to learn understanding the root cause
of any wrongdoings so as to avoid them rather than limiting ourselves to just
reacting to those.
This book is certainly inspires
all those who wish to seek truth, be rational for judgement, live simple and
more than anything who’s willing to take social responsibility. No mater what
you think of when you hear the name “M.K.Gandhi” this book certainly elevates
the noble traits of you. I don’t mean to say your impression towards him
changes by reading this book but I would just say anyone can become a better
person by reading this book. Most of anything I am sure that you shall love
this book once you finish it and encourage others to read this book.
Finally I wish to extend my thanks to the
publishers for subsidising this book, respects to author for sprouting the
sense of belonging towards fellowmen. I’m also thankful to all my contemporaries
who suggested me and inspired me reading this book.
THANK YOU
